[Season 2]
A type of mobile armor, autonomous weapons hailing from the darkest days of human history. Driven by an almost obsessive desire to kill, mobile armors like the Hashmal would nearly bring mankind to extinction during the Calamity War. Eventually Gjallarhorn and their Gundam-type MS would defeat the rampaging mobile armors, and subsequently allow the terrifying machines to fade from public memory. Unfortunately not all of them were truly destroyed, and more than 300 years later the Hashmal would be discovered below Mars' surface during half-metal mining operations.
The Hashmal is several times larger than a mobile suit and is capable of easily overpowering even modern designs like the Reginlaze. Nearly forgotten technologies like beam weaponry give it incredible destructive power, but its true potential is realized when operating in conjunction with its Pluma support units. Not only do they serve the mobile armor in combat, but by scavenging resources they are able to keep the Hashmal armed and repaired while in turn it is capable of constructing more Pluma. Given the time and materials, theoretically infinite self-propagation is possible.
Armaments:Beam Weapon: A high-output beam cannon mounted in the unit's head. Because beam weaponry is diffused and greatly weakened by nanolaminate armor, they are intended more for attacking human populations than combat with mobile suits.
Kinetic Energy Shot Launcher/
Arm Claw: A cannon built into each palm that fire projectiles with incredible force, puncturing even the heaviest of MS armor. Additionally, the Hashmal's claws are large enough to simply crush mobile suits outright.
Superhard Wire Blade: A large blade mounted to the main body by a thick cable. Electrical currents can alter the viscosity of the cable's alloy, allowing it to bend in any direction.
Pluma: Autonomous support units for MA like the Hashmal. They operate by receiving power by microwaves from their MA's energy supply system, and in turn each Pluma transmits its sensory data to the MA. Individually weak, the Pluma are more than capable of overwhelming MS through sheer numbers. For combat they're equipped with a
railgun, and a
drill capable of boring through MS armor.
