Gundam IBO Mechanical Profiles - Graze Frame
« on: November 29, 2020, 06:46:26 AM »

Graze Standard Type
Model number: EB-06, EB-06s (Commander)
Overall height: 17.8m
Base weight: 30.2t
[Season 1]
Gjallarhorn's current mass production Mobile Suit. The Graze is an evolution of the Geirail and Valkyrja Frames, inheriting their principles of simplicity and energy efficiency. It has been meticulously designed from the ground up for versatility, making it an all-purpose machine that is easily adapted for any situation or environment through equipment refitting.  With a simplified frame that has reduced developmental and operational costs, the Graze can be considered the culmination of modern technology.

Recalling the mobility issues of its predecessor the Geirail, the Graze is equipped with lighter armor materials when deployed within gravity and each leg has a retractable thruster. When not in use they fold down into the frame and are covered by armor plates, reducing possible damage when the unit is under fire. A refined and far more compact set of optional booster units than the Geirail's can be equipped on the waist for high-speed movement, and there exists a near-identical variant for space use that are mounted on the back instead.

The machine's head can open to expose a sophisticated sensor for long-range or precise measurement. Due to its standardized frame, the rest of a Graze's equipment can vary by duty station and mission. Squads are typically led by a commander unit, which possess enhanced communications equipment. Widely deployed on Earth and throughout space, the Graze's ease of use and maintenance make it widely popular among the organization's pilots and mechanics. So much so that there is little interest in pursuing development of a successor.

[Season 2]
Gjallarhorn's defeat at Edmonton changed everything. The organization's influence waned, the Earth economic blocs began asserting more independence, and interest in Mobile Suits reignited. While the Graze remained a powerful and efficient machine, its role as deterrent became ineffective. Gjallarhorn's R&D teams began developing a successor focused on anti-MS combat, with higher output and heavier firepower. As of PD 325 the Graze remains far and away the most common Gjallarhorn Mobile Suit, but the Arianrhod fleet has slowly begun fielding the Reginlaze in its place.

Armaments:

GR-W01 120mm Rifle/Short Rifle: A standard-issue rifle noted for its high accuracy and versatility. The knuckle guard mounts on the unit's wrist, improving stability and dramatically reducing recoil. While its ammunition cannot critically damage a mobile suit's nanolaminate armor at range, the GR-W01 still excels as a support weapon and lucky fire may knock out enemy sensors or armaments. Finally the barrel can be removed; while this reduces range and accuracy, it is more ideally suited for close combat.

GR-W02 320mm Bazooka Gun: A rocket-firing weapon developed as an equipment option. When in use it replaces an entire shoulder, the rail mount allowing the bazooka to rotate out of the way when not in use or even to be fired without use of the machine's hands.

GR-H01 9.8m Battle Axe: A stout axe developed as the Graze's primary melee equipment. Intended for anti-mobile suit combat, even with single-handed strikes the axe excels at hacking through nanolaminate armor. It can be carried on either hip when not in use.

GR-H02 Battle Blade: A lightweight, easy to handle sword intended for ground combat. As the Graze's attitude/posture control systems are placed under additional stress while operating within gravity, the battle blade is designed for sufficient combat potential while placing minimal additional burden on the machine's balance.

GR-E01 8.8m Shield: A heat-resistant slab of nanolaminate armor, developed as defensive gear for the Graze. It is mounted on either forearm and has a hand grip for additional stability. Since mobile suit combat is rare in the modern era it is not issued as standard equipment.

Graze Ground Type
Model number: EB-06j
Overall height: ???
Base weight: ???
[Season 1]
A variant of the Graze utilized by Gjallarhorn's ground forces. It has been adjusted with combat under Earth's gravity in mind, focusing on the machine's balance and mobility. Compared to the standard type it features new feet with hover units, a pair of boosters attached on its thighs, and is equipped with a multi-rack backpack that may carry its battle blade. For deployment from naval carriers it can also be equipped with a GR-E03 ground booster unit, further enhancing its maneuverability and allowing it to sustain movement across the surface of the ocean.

GR-H01 9.8m Battle Axe: The Ground Type is normally equipped with a battle blade for melee combat, but some units are still issued the standard-issue axe when the situation requires.

Graze Ritter
Model number: EB-06r, EB-06rs (Commander)
Overall height: ???, 18.7m (Commander)
Base weight: ???, 32.1t (Commander)
[Season 1]
A variant of the Graze used by the Carta Corps of Gjallarhorn's Outer Earth Orbit Regulatory Joint Fleet. Though primarily for ceremonial functions it has excellent adjusted mobility for orbital combat, surpassing the standard Graze. For terrestrial operations they can be fitted with large thigh boosters like the Ground Type's to maintain their augmented maneuverability, but realistically they have seen almost no combat due to the Arianrhod Fleet stationed on the moon.

Carta Issue herself utilizes a commander model of the Ritter, distinguished by further ornamentation such as a more pronounced head crest and larger shoulder armoring. She would lead her forces in pursuit of Tekkadan after they made it past her to Earth, but as they are her first real opponents Carta would quickly find herself in over her head.

[Season 2]
After being placed in charge of Gjallarhorn's Outer Earth Orbit Regulatory Joint Fleet, McGillis Fareed now maintains his own command unit. The Ritter's performance has been reviewed and revised, with emphasis placed on maximizing its mobility within gravity. Under his leadership the Graze Ritter of the re-christened McGillis Corps has gone from a ceremonial machine to one actively deployed on Earth on peacekeeping duties. Several units are even seen among the defense forces of Gjallarhorn's Earth headquarters.

GW-Hr01 Knight Blade: A double-edged sword designed specifically for the Graze Ritter. While primarily intended for ceremonial use, its ornamentation does not detract from its effectiveness in actual combat scenarios. When not in use it can be stored on either hip.

Graze Dainsleif Equipment Type
Model number: ???
Overall height: ???
Base weight: ???
[Season 2]
A variant of the Graze modified to carry and use Dainsleif weaponry from the Calamity War. The railgun itself is a cumbersome weapon that entirely replaces the unit's left arm, and additional equipment is mounted on the rear skirt that plugs directly into the MS' reactor. A new, telescoping head camera allows for extremely accurate, long-distance barrages. As these Graze remain largely immobile and require a support squad to reload after every shot, they are deployed in the back field during combat.

Armaments:

Dainsleif: A potent class of railgun-type weaponry from the Calamity War, which fire kinetic energy penetrator rounds capable of easily piercing nanolaminate armor. Gjallarhorn themselves have banned these by treaty as inhumane weapons, but still opportunistically employ them all the same.

Graze Schild
Model number: EB-06Q
Overall height: ???
Base weight: ???
[Season 2]
A variant of the Graze deployed by the Arianrhod Fleet for static defense and group combat within gravity. It's distinguishable from the Standard Type by its chin guard, in addition to being equipped with a halberd and large shield. Large numbers of Schilds were deployed to Mars' surface by Rustal Elion as part of the siege operation to eliminate the Tekkadan.

Armaments:

Custom Large Halberd: A two-handed pole weapon with an axe blade topped by a spike.

Special Large Shield: A heavier, longer shield than the standard model. It is mounted on either forearm and has a hand grip for additional stability.

Graze Custom
Model number: EB-06/tc
Overall height: 17.9m
Base weight: 28.2t
[Season 1]
A unique machine resulting from the capture of two Grazes by the Tekkadan. While both units were too damaged to operate on their own, due to the ingenuity of the group's mechanics the salvaged parts were aggregated into a single working machine. The head, shoulders, and portions of the torso couldn't be saved, so crude replacements had to be built. While their armor strength is inferior to the materials used by Gjallarhorn, its overall weight reduction and a large booster unit installed on the back make it more maneuverable than a standard unit in space.

While the original intent was to sell the Graze Custom to raise funds for the Tekkadan, circumstances forced them to send it into battle and it has remained part of their combat forces since. Underneath the modifications it is still a Graze, so plenty of option parts exist so long as they can be captured from Gjallarhorn. The Graze's ease of use and maintenance are a boon for the pilot and mechanics, who are untrained with Mobile Suits.

Graze Custom II (Ryusei-Go)
Model number: EB-06/tc2
Overall height: 18.9m
Base weight: 31.2t
[Season 1]
An enhanced version of the Graze Custom using Teiwaz technology. Shoulder and thruster parts from the Hyakuren have been added, increasing the machine's weight but also improving both its armoring and mobility. The machine's eye-catching colorscheme and head markings owe to its new pilot, Norba Shino. Its cockpit has also been modified with an Alaya-Vijnana system salvaged from a Man Rodi. While not as compatible with the system as the Gundam Frame it's still sufficient for helping Shino, who has no MS piloting experience, adjust more quickly.

GR-H01 9.8m Battle Axe: A stout axe developed as the Graze's primary melee equipment. Intended for anti-mobile suit combat, even with single-handed strikes the axe excels at hacking through nanolaminate armor. It can be carried on either hip when not in use.

Regal Lily
Model number: EB-06/T2C
Overall height: 19.2m
Base weight: 32.8t
[Gekko]
Another custom machine belonging to Gianmarco Salerno, Tanto Tempo executive. Originally a Graze captured by the Tekkadan and sold through Teiwaz, Gianmarco has since had it independently modified and equipped with the unusual Bellows Axe. The legs have seen significant improvements with use of the Bellows Axe in mind, and a heat-resistant mantle has been mounted on its back for what appear to be aesthetic purposes.

Armaments:

JEE-101 110mm Rifle: A standardized rifle sold by Teiwaz subsidiary, Euro Electronics.

Bellows Axe: A heavy melee weapon with a hidden trick. The axe's blades are linked together by flexible moving parts, allowing them to lash out like a serpent and land a heavy blow via centrifugal force even if the initial swing was evaded.

Adler
Model number: ???
Overall height: 22.4m
Base weight: 41.3t
[Gekko]
A Graze quietly provided to Rosario Leone by Ville Klaassen of Gjallarhorn, for use in the schism within Tanto Tempo. It was subsequently refurbished and given to his aide Nanao Narorina, in order to escort Rosario's Gundam Vual in combat. Due to the leg extensions and replacement of most of its armoring the Adler is barely recognizable as a Graze anymore, but it is still capable of utilizing the standard array of Graze weaponry.

Anti-MS Claw: A tri-bladed claw mounted over the left arm.

Graze Stachel
Model number: EB-06N
Overall height: 18.6m
Base weight: 32.0t
[Gekko]
A customized Graze used by Gjallarhorn's internal regulatory unit for covert and assassination operations. The wire claw and fixation arms mounted across its body allow it to perform attitude control not possible by conventional mobile suits. The leg's shock absorbers have been improved in order to better reduce the noise made by the machine's movements.

GR-H06 Stun Stick: A small, discrete weapon that excels for use in hit and run tactics. It is primarily for use targeting the joints and sensors of enemy Mobile Suits.

Wire Claw: A small, wire-guided anchor mounted on the Stachel's left arm.

Fixation Arms: Mounted on the shoulders, knees, and feet.

Schwalbe Graze
Model number: EB-05s
Overall height: 18.1m
Base weight: 32.5t
[Season 1]
A high-mobility design born during the Graze's development process, the Schwalbe Graze utilizes the same frame but forgoes versatility in favor of pursuing higher output and speed. Its GR-Es01 Flight Unit adopts some of the same technology as interplanetary cruisers, resulting in a superbly fast machine that can even fly within Earth's gravity. In exchange it is extremely demanding of its pilot, only showing its true potential when pushed to peak performance. At lower levels of output its stability is inferior to the standard Graze's and requires considerable skill to handle effectively.

The Schwalbe's inferior flexibility and cost-efficiency ultimately saw it passed over in favor the Graze as Gjallarhorn's primary MS, but it was adopted as a limited-production commander unit instead. As these temperamental machines tend to be permanently assigned to specific pilots, individual customization is common. One such example is Gaelio Bauduin's machine, featuring a purple colorscheme and a massive lance. Gaelio would later pass his unit down to his subordinate Ein Dalton, who eschewed the weapon in favor of the standard GR-W01 rifle he was more familiar with.

GR-Hs01 16.5m Lance, 2: A modified version of the GR-W01, featuring a shortened barrel and ammo drum. While this reduces its effective range and accuracy, it has become better-suited for the close range combat the lance is designed for.

GR-H01 9.8m Battle Axe: A stout axe developed as the Graze's primary melee equipment. Intended for anti-mobile suit combat, even with single-handed strikes the axe excels at hacking through nanolaminate armor. It can be carried on either hip when not in use.

GR-Es02 Wire Claw: A propelled grappling claw used for things such as restraining enemy mobile suits, clinging to ship hulls, and etc.

Schwalbe Custom
Model number: EB-05c
Overall height: 18.1m
Base weight: 31.9t
[Urdr-Hunt]
This Schwalbe Custom is the personal machine of Cyclase Mayer, a former Gjallarhorn officer turned hitman for the Orrden Colony Company. It is one of the very few Schwalbe Graze produced after the project was passed over in trials to the Graze for adoption as the Geirail's replacement, and has been further customized to Cyclase's liking after he murdered his superior and defected from the organization. The Schwalbe Custom abandons the hip binders of the standard model, revamping the machine's array of boosters and adding a third thruster unit on its rear skirt. While this has made the design even more difficult to successfully pilot, Cyclase is able to skillfully draw out its full performance as a high-maneuverability MS aiming to end combat with a single, decisive strike.

Armaments:

130mm Handgun/Blade: A model of short-barreled handgun developed for the Schwalbe Graze, of which Cyclase stole a pair while absconding with the Mobile Suit. The blades mounted under the barrels were added during the machine's renovations, quickly becoming a signature of Cyclase's efficient combat style.

Shield: A small shield mounted on the left wrist's hardpoint, specifically chosen for its size and weight in order to avoid interfering with the machine's movements.

Graze Ein
Model number: EB-AX2
Overall height: 22.2m
Base weight: 38.6t
[Season 1]
The Alaya-Vijnana system was undoubtedly one of the keys to mankind's victory in the Calamity War. However, in the aftermath it would be one of the casualties of the newly-formed Gjallarhorn's efforts to curb the excessive mechanization that was thought to have caused the war in the first place. The system was banned and a cultural taboo against the use of mechanical implants was propagated across what remained of humanity, in hopes of reducing the chance of the technology being used against them.

The Alaya-Vijnana system was simply too potent for Gjallarhorn to abandon it entirely of course, and research continued in absolute secrecy even to the modern day. This unit is a product of that research, an experiment in integrating pilot with machine through the system. Though built off of the versatile Graze Frame it abandons several core concepts in pursuit of a shape easier for the human brain to perceive as its own body, resulting in the unit's extended arms and legs to better conform to the pilot's senses.

Progress eventually stalled without a test pilot willing to consent to the surgery, until the machine's existence was revealed by McGillis Fareed as a method to save the life of the maimed Ein Dalton. What resulted was a horrific fusion of flesh and machine, a true unification of man and Mobile Suit through the Alaya-Vijnana system. Extensive cybernetic modification has left Ein little more than a head and torso grafted into the cockpit, as much equipment as he is pilot.

The newly-christened Graze Ein's cockpit lacks the typical monitors and physical controls of contemporary Mobile Suits as they are unnecessary. Sensory information is projected directly onto his retinas, and Ein is capable of controlling the entire machine through thought alone as if it were actually his body. Ein himself is completely submerged in a nutrient fluid as part of his life support, and the Alaya-Vijnana system helps stabilize his mental state in addition to control the machine.

The Graze Ein would enter combat just once, in the final hours of the battle outside Edmonton between Gjallarhorn and the Tekkadan. Ein's level of synchronization with the machine made it shockingly agile and precise despite its hulking frame, out-maneuvering and taking down numerous opponents. Its performance against even a Gundam Frame also utilizing the Alaya-Vijanana system would prove it one of the most dangerous Mobile Suits ever created -and reveal Gjallarhorn's hypocrisy for all the world to see.

Armaments:

Pile Bunker: A pair of single-shot pile drivers mounted on the forearms. After use the entire mechanism is ejected.

Shoulder Retractable 40mm Machinegun: A pair of CIWS that, as their name implies, unfold from the Ein's large shoulder units when in use. They have a wide field of fire and thanks to the Alaya-Vijnana system, very high accuracy in their primary role of shooting down incoming missiles or lightly-armored vehicles attacking from the ground.

Screw Punch: For close quarters combat, the Ein's hands can fold up into a rigid state and rotate at high speeds to deliver crushing blows. Since a mobile suit's hands are inevitably delicate even with these protections, the screw punches can be thought of as secondary weapons only to be used when the unit has been disarmed.

Drill Kick: Capitalizing on the unique advantages of the Alaya-Vijnana system, the Ein's feet have been designed to operate as drills by folding up and rotating at high speeds. These unique melee weapons can quickly tear through armor and the vulnerable machinery beneath, striking with a deceptively long reach due to the unit's extended frame.

Custom Large Axe: While reminiscent of the battle axe of the standard Graze, these weapons have been dramatically increased in size and length to take advantage of the Graze Ein's increased output and reach. A pair are equipped on the unit's backpack, and it is fully capable of using one in each hand simultaneously.

Hloekk Graze
Model number: AEB-06L
Overall height: 13.8m
Base weight: 25.2t
[Season 2]
The Hloekk Graze is a "monkey model", a low cost export version of the Graze with neutered combat capabilities. The debacle at Edmonton was a massive blow to the status quo: Gjallarhorn's reputation as an impartial observer was ruined, and the Tekkadan's many victories proved how even a handful of Mobile Suits could be a formidable power base. As a result the Earth's wary economic blocs distanced themselves from Gjallarhorn and sought to acquire military capabilities of their own.

With the ensuing political landscape a minefield, Gjallarhorn decided to attempt to both appease and control this movement by developing and selling the Hloekk Graze directly to the economic blocs. Opinions were split within the organization about exporting a machine bearing the name "Graze", but the support of McGillis Fareed saw the project pushed through. As a combat machine the Hloekk Graze is lacking: with a simplified frame, reduced performance and inferior weaponry, it is a pale shadow of its namesake.

However, the machine is not entirely without merit. Its simplicity and ease of use make it more than satisfactory for inexperienced militaries such as the Arbrau Defense Forces, who were among the first to adopt them. Its large head unit is also something not seen on other Graze variants, sporting missile tubes that expand its tactical applications. Even Gjallarhorn itself would employ the Hloekk Graze in some rear line support roles, such as the Arianrhod Fleet utilizing them as ammo porters for squads of Dainsleif-equipped Grazes.

Armaments:

90mm Submachine gun: A bullpup rifle with a secondary grip for stable fire.

Missile Pods: Four missile tubes mounted in the head unit. A variety of munitions can be loaded, including flares.

Small Axe: A down-scaled version of the Graze's battle axe.

???: A pick-like melee weapon.

Shield: A down-scaled version of the Graze's shield, mounted on the unit's arm.
