Gundam IBO Mechanical Profiles - Reginlaze Frame
« on: November 29, 2020, 06:49:09 AM »

Reginlaze
Model number: EB-08, EB-08s (Commander)
Overall height: 18.5m
Base weight: 31.9t
[Season 2]
Following repeated defeats at the hands of the Tekkadan and the shifting political and military climate after Edmonton, Gjallarhorn was forced to rethink their Mobile Suit development. While the Graze seemed the pinnacle of modern technology and a deterrent through its existence alone, the disgraced peacekeeping organization now had to face the reality of a world where anti-MS combat was becoming increasingly common. It needed to adapt if it wanted to regain control of the situation.

The Reginlaze was developed with this in mind and focused on three key concepts: high output, heavy equipment, and heavy firepower. The design is more sophisticated and optimized than the Graze Frame without losing its predecessors' strong points of simplicity, ease of use, and versatility. In its pursuit of strength the structure of the Reginlaze Frame's has come to more closely resemble the Valkyrja Frame of old, in response to a new era of conflict ushered in by Gundams.

The large sensor unit stored inside its head is a new model with a composite, triple lens configuration. The Reginlaze's shoulder and thigh joints, which require higher torque, are ball shaped and protected by shield units that can carry additional equipment. Like the Graze it has a pair of booster units which are better armored than its predecessor's and mount on the unit's back via a pair of flexible connectors. They are primarily designed for space use, but can also be employed in ground combat with little to no modification.

The first production run totals 18 machines, all of which have been assigned to select pilots within the Arianrhod Fleet. Owing to the machne's flexibility it can be easily modified to suit the needs of their pilots, such as Julieta Juris' white-accented machine being tuned for high mobility. One Commander Unit belonged to Iok Kujan, and has been equipped to function as a long-range support type in order to keep him away from direct combat.

Armaments:

GR-W11 130mm Rifle/Short Rifle: An evolution of the Graze's GR-W01, designed with a higher caliber to be more effective in anti-mobile suit combat. It has great extensibility, with many option parts entering development so that the rifle can be tailored to any combat situation. It may be carried on the hip binders or on the rear skirt armoring.

Multi-Weapon Pack: A series of optional attachments for the GR-W11. A large sword unit attaches to the bottom of the rifle, often serving as the unit's primary melee weapon. Other options include an underslung grenade launcher or a rocket launcher mounted in place of the standard barrel.

Long Distance Railgun: An electromagnetic rifle for precision fire, that had been in testing by Gjallarhorn R&D. It has excellent handling due to its movable grips, and the barrel can be collapsed when not in use. Firing output can be adjusted on the fly, but pushing it too high can wear out and damage the railgun's barrel. The weapon is belt-fed by an ammo pack mounted on the rear skirt. Used by Iok's unit.

Arm Autocannon: Mounted on either forearm. Used by Julieta's unit, and featured in the Gundam Try Age video game.

GW-Hr01 Knight Blade: A double-edged sword designed specifically for the Graze Ritter. While primarily intended for ceremonial use, its ornamentation does not detract from its effectiveness in actual combat scenarios. It is equipped on Iok's unit, and when not in use it can be stored on either hip binder.

Twin Pile, 2: Exotic melee weapons that incorporate hand guards and wired anchors. While their attack area is small compared to weapons like the battle axe or blade, the twin piles are durable enough to block and parry enemy blows. Since each blow deals little damage, aggressive handling and rapid strikes are necessary for effective use. Used by Julieta's unit.

???: A double-edged, ceremonial blade.

GR-E11 Gauntlet: Small bucklers that can be mounted on either forearm, and can double as striking weapons in close quarters. They are also able to attach to the GR-W11's handgrip, anchoring the weapon and improving stability.

Reginlaze Julia
Model number: EB-08jjc
Overall height: 29.9m
Base weight: 43.3t
[Season 2]
While the Reginlaze was designed for intensified anti-MS combat in the years following the Edmonton incident, several encounters proved that the performance of rogue Gundam Frames still exceeded Gjallarhorn's expectations. In response the Arianrhod Fleet assembled a development project headed by Chief Engineer Yamazin Toka to further improve the Reginlaze's abilities. The result was this: a high output, high mobility test unit that exchanged ease of use for maximum performance, ironically mirroring the Gundam Frame's concept.

In addition to the folding thruster units attached to the extended legs, thrusters have been mounted all across the body that work in conjunction to push the suit's mobility to the limits of the frame. The limbs have been extended to better match the pilot's sensations, a concept proven effective by the Graze Ein. With such a high demand placed on the skills of the pilot the machine languished until Julieta Juris, who would become the Julia's namesake, volunteered to serve as its test pilot.

Unlike the standard Reginlaze which is expected to operate in teams, the Julia was designed to fight and move on its own. While optimized for space use it is still a machine built on the Reginlaze Frame, so by exchanging some of its components the Julia can be adapted for other situations like ground combat. Though its incredible performance is somewhat diminished within gravity, during the battle on Mars it still demonstrated outstanding mobility surpassing the standard model by using its raw output to hover across the surface at high speeds.

Armaments:

Vulcan Guns: A pair of guns mounted in each of the shoulder-mounted shield binders.

Julian Sword/Whip Mode: A pair of large swords mounted on the Julia's forearms that can also function as segmented whips due to an internal wire. The blade edges and wire are made of the same rare material as the Valkyria Blades, and can drill through armor by rapidly spinning the segment of the sword. The weapon's movements in whip mode are controlled through electric signals transmitted through the wire.

Custom Large Blade: A one-handed sword developed for the Reginlaze and subsequently equipped on the Julia after its remodeling. Like the Julian Sword, the tip of the blade is made from the same rare material as the Valkyria Blades.

Custom Large Shield/Vulcans/Rocket Anchor: A heavy shield originally developed for the Reginlaze and equipped on the Julia after its remodeling. A pair of vulcans are mounted on either side of the wire-guided rocket anchor, offering the unit additional ranged combat ability.

Manipulator Claw: Since the Julia is intended to rely on the Julian Swords and no other weaponry during high-speed combat, it has been fitted with crude grappling claws that fulfill the bare minimum of manipulator function. Should the Julia actually need to be equipped with handheld weapons, the claws can be quickly swapped out for standard Reginlaze manipulators.

Leg Claw: Though normally folded up inside the thruster units, the Julia's articulated feet can also be used as grappling claws.

Leg Blade: The pointed tips on the leg thruster units are normally used in conjunction with the leg claws as landing gear, but they are also hardy enough for offensive use.
