Geirail
Model number: EB-04
Overall height: 17.9m
Base weight: 29.5t
[Season 2]
An older Mobile Suit developed and produced by Gjallarhorn after the end of the Calamity War. Descended from the powerful but complex Valkyrja Frame, the Geirail is a general-purpose design that emphasizes ease of use and maintenance. Like other Gjallarhorn machines it is not designed for anti-MA combat but instead maintaining peace through deterrence, as few other organizations have the power to resist MS during this era.

More than half of the Geirails in operation would be retired from service after the deployment of the Graze, with a significant number of units finding their way onto underground markets and ultimately operated by organizations other than Gjallarhorn. One such example is the Geirail owned by the mercenary Galan Mossa, which had its origins camouflaged through the use of parts from wrecked and prototype machines scrubbed of their registration codes.

Many of these privately owned machines are equipped with whatever they can get their hands on, like repurposed construction equipment, due to the strict control of MS and weaponry sales and distribution within the inner sphere. One of the Geirail's largest flaws was how greatly its mobility suffered when deployed within Earth's gravity, which could be partially rectified by equipping a bulky hover unit. The Graze would later address this with its better optimized and miniaturized booster units.

Armaments:

110mm Rifle: A semi-automatic, drum-fed rifle.

Pickel: A pickaxe particularly adept at parries and disarming attacks. Normally they're used by worker units involved in dismantling old colonies.

Shield Axe, 2: An arm-mounted shield that folds up into an axe for close combat. A convenient and favored weapon for mercenaries, who have difficulties procuring and maintaining MS-grade weaponry.

Geirail Scharfrichter
Model number: EB-04jc4
Overall height: 17.9m
Base weight: 33.5t
[Season 2]
A variant of the Geirail loaded with heavier armor and equipment. Due to the wide of array of weaponry it can carry the Scharfrichter is a versatile machine and thrives in the chaos of a battlefield. Though their hover units offset some of their loss of operability within gravity, they are easily out-maneuvered in close combat and rely heavily on their claw shields as a result. Most of these machines were withdrawn from the front lines after the development of the Graze, but some found their way into the hands of mercenaries like the band led by Galan Mossa in the conflict between Arbrau and the SAU.

Armaments:

110mm Rifle: A semi-automatic, drum-fed rifle.

Pickel: A pickaxe particularly adept at parries and disarming attacks. Normally they're used by worker units involved in dismantling old colonies.

Land Mace: A large tool resembling a scaled up version of the pickel, used for construction work. Although not intended as such, it works just fine as a weapon as well.

Claw Shield, 2: Large, thick shields equipped on the shoulder hardpoints. The interior mount storage racks, typically carrying a pair of hand grenades or a spare ammo drum for the rifle, and conceal a pair of folded up claws for a surprise in close combat. These claws play an important role for the Scharfrichter, assisting in defending, counterattacking, and disengaging from melee.

Hand Grenade: Can be carried on the shield storage racks.
